Not as clear as I expected, according other reviews, but good if no expectations has been set Sep 07, 2010 Product shipment was ok, and performance is reasonable, but not as exiting as described on the reviews.
Excellent Sep 07, 2010 Liked the Call Quality. Can easily see the difference when compared to my Old Headset. People whom I talk to don't even hear my car sound or any disturbances. So I should say the noise cancellation is good.
Loved the Leather Case.Very Fancy!!
Go for this Headset or buy nothing. :-)
Great bluetooth for truck drivers Sep 06, 2010 I drive truck for a living, and use my cellphone to communicate quite a bit, both for my job, and with friends and family. When bluetooth first came about several years ago, I tried several of the small, "fashionable" type of headsets, and was never able to find any that worked well until I bought a big, ugly boom mic headset from Blue Parrot. For the record, that product worked great for several years. It recently started giving me some trouble, and I decided I would shop around before buying another over the head headset.
After quite a bit of research, I decided on the Plantronics Discovery 975. After about a week with the product, I couldn't be happier. The problem I had with the small headsets before was they picked up too much of the engine noise of the truck, making it difficult for anyone else to hear me. This is not a problem at all with the Discovery 975. I am able to hear the people I am talking to, and I've been told this headset sounds even better than my Blue Parrot. I have even tried using the Discovery with the truck window open, and while the person on the other end said it sounded "a little staticky", they were still able to hear and understand me clearly.
The earpiece is comfortable in my ear, and the case/charger is very nice. When the case is fully charged, it will recharge the headset to full at least twice. Another nice feature is that the headset remains connected to the phone when in the case or charging. The case also has a small display that shows the charge level of both the headset and the case.
The Discovery 975 does not seem to support voice dialing, but this is not a big issue for me, as I have speed dial numbers for all of my most used contacts. If this is a feature you are looking for, however, be warned this phone does not support it.
All in all, I am very happy with this headset, and would recommend it to any other truck drivers, or anyone who works in an environment with excessive background noise.
The Best Bluetooth Headset I've Owned Sep 05, 2010 Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/ROG96OD05NZ2I I've been using this headset for about 6 months now, and it's the best one that I've owned. Check out my video review to see what you're getting here with your own two eyes!
Bluetooth Better Than The Competition Sep 05, 2010 I tried several other bluetooth options, the most notable of which was the Jawbone (both Jawbone I and II), which I had expected to be top-of-the-line perfect. I could simply never get the Jawbone's in-ear piece to stay in my ear or the rubber end to stay on its post. Frustrated, I turned to the Plantronics, a much more simple and durable design. It is easy to insert, easy to use and keeps a charge in its handy-dandy case much longer than the competition. None of these headsets is perfect, hence the 4 star rating, but this one comes as close as I have found.
